About Us

The Franciscan Investment Cooperative Society Ltd (FIC) is situated in Kampala Uganda.It is a multipurpose Co-operative established and owned by members of St. Francis Chapel Makerere University.

The society assists members of the Chapel to sustainably attain economic prosperity. The Chapel founded the Society in line with her vision of establishing a model church that is holistically transformed.

Our Journey

Incorporated under the Co-operative Societies Act Cap 112 of Uganda, FIC's roots trace back to its launch on 4th October 2010 as the Franciscan Investment Group (FIG). We officially registered with the Registrar of Co-operatives in the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Co-operatives (MTIC) on 4th January 2011 as Franciscan Investment Cooperative Savings and Credit Society Limited (FIC SACCO), Registration No. 9897/RCS. To diversify our investment endeavors, we made a strategic transition on 7th April 2014 to become the Franciscan Investment Co-operative Society Ltd (FIC) with the same registration number.

Our Principle Activity

The principal activity of FIC is to mobilize savings from members, lend to members and invest for members.
FIC members pool resources through regular savings, and purchase of shares and Investment Units (IUs). The society offers short,medium and long term loans to her members for self-economic development. In addition,the Executive Committee invests the share capital and the IUs in best available options to maximise Return on Investments (RoI) for her members.
